About This Project
stfn.ro is a personal blog and portfolio wrapped in a fictional GEN-7 terminal interface inspired by the film GATTACA. It mixes raw, unfiltered writing with a crafted cyberpunk shell, complete with CRT scanlines, animated boot sequences, DNA codon overlays, and an interactive ID card.
The site is built from scratch with a custom PHP entrypoint, Cockpit CMS for content, and an in-browser React layer (loaded via UMD + Babel standalone, no build step). Every detail, from the chromatic aberration to the bracket hover patterns and a hidden Space Invaders game, exists to make the act of reading and browsing feel like operating a piece of speculative hardware.
Key features
- Custom GATTACA-themed terminal UI with CRT effects, scan lines, and chromatic aberration
- Two content streams: Logs (personal writing) and Projects (experiments and side work)
- Tag-based filtering and slug-based deep links handled by a single PHP entrypoint
- React + JSX UI loaded directly in the browser via UMD and Babel standalone, no build pipeline
- Cockpit CMS backend with graceful fallback to local mock data when offline
- Animated ID card with multiple portrait states and a hidden Space Invaders game
- Server-rendered OpenGraph image cache via a custom thumb endpoint
- Image protection: pointer-events disabled and drag prevented on all media
Who it is for
Anyone who likes reading honest, slightly chaotic personal writing inside an environment that takes itself seriously enough to feel like a machine and not seriously enough to forget the joke.
