About This Project
md.tasta.space is a tiny share box for markdown. Drop a .md file or paste the text, pick a lifetime from 88 minutes to 69 hours, and you get a clean link that opens as a proper reading page. When the timer runs out the file is deleted for real. No accounts. No email. No tracking. No paywall.
The October 2026 redesign rebuilt it around the person reading. The page tells them up front when the link expires and offers a download, a contents rail follows the sections, and the reading settings let everyone pick the text size, line width and theme they like.
The reading page
- Expiry first: a strip and a timer that turn red in the last 24 hours and count down by the second in the last hour
- A contents rail built from the headings (a sheet on phones) and a sticky reading bar with your progress
- Reading settings: text size, line width, light or dark theme, contents on or off
- Download as
.md, a self-contained.htmlor a.pdf, plus share and copy link buttons - Syntax highlighted code blocks with copy and wrap buttons, and a draggable scrollbar for long lines
Markdown that renders properly
- GitHub flavoured markdown: tables, task lists, autolinks and fenced code
- GitHub alerts (NOTE, TIP, IMPORTANT, WARNING, CAUTION), footnotes and definition lists
- Box-drawing diagrams whose lines join up cleanly on the page
- A small, safe set of inline HTML: collapsible sections, keyboard keys, highlights, subscript and superscript
Uploading
- Drop a file (up to 5 MB) or paste the text straight into the page
- Auto-delete after 88 minutes, 7 hours, 22 hours 17 minutes or 69 hours, each with its own joke
- A delete key kept only in your browser, so you can remove a share early
- A plain upload endpoint for scripts and the command line: one

Privacy by default
Shares are never indexed by search engines and never sent to third parties. Raw HTML in a file is never trusted: only a short allowlist of tags is rebuilt, without attributes. When a share expires or its owner deletes it, the file, the database row and the rendered page are gone, and the link answers with a page that says why.
